What it is
Nipis is bespoke barong tagalog — piña and jusi to commission, set in Lumban, Laguna, Philippines. It was built as a complete world rather than a page: a name, a history, a material system, a vocabulary, a photographic language, and a reason to exist — then the site that world would have made for itself.
The light it lives in
It belongs to the Aubade register: daylight, hospitality, inhabited rooms, restorative warmth. That decision is made from the subject, never from the category — hotels, residences, and other places to dwell. It settles the palette, the type, and how every photograph is lit before a single section gets drawn.
The signature
Every site in the collection has to earn one interaction that could belong to nothing else it sells. Here that is Ang pechera — the panel drawn on sheer cloth. It is built first, and everything else is arranged around it.
